The Medical and Surgical Short-Stay Unit at Wexham Park Hospital comprises 14 patient rooms, which Emma Carr our Arts & Creative Health Manager, along with Erin Walsh, Clinical Matron, helped rejuvenate.
The empty white walls typical of a healthcare setting are now decorated to give the room light and identity.
Each room has one wall adorned with a floral or natural motif, expertly matched to a framed piece of artwork on the other wall
This synthesizes elements of nature to create a far more soothing and picturesque environment for patients while they recover.
“I just wanted to message you about the impact of the arts programme. This picture is keeping Dad sane. In his words:
‘Every time I look at it, I see something different, and it seems to get brighter.’
Thanks for making it so he and so many others are not staring at bare walls”, said a grateful family member.
